More than 2,000 Asian Games volunteers took part in services for the rehearsal of “odd-even” traffic restrictions in GuangZhou over the weekend, according to Guangzhou Daily.
Guangzhou tested vehicle restriction measures from July 17 to 20, allowing private cars with even and odd licence plates to drive on alternate days. The measures shall be in place during the Asian Games this November for smoother traffic and better air quality.
From July to September, the Volunteers Department of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) will organise about 50,000 person times of traffic volunteers to receive position-specific training.
