According to GuangZhou Forestry and Landscaping Bureau, a number of roads will be renovated in the near future. The reconstruction of the Airport Expressway has been launched, which will be renovated into a green road showcasing the image of Guangzhou as the City of Flowers and the achievements in ecological construction.

Currently, Guangzhou Lu, Linjiang Lu, Baiyun Lu and Dongfeng Lu have become model roads in Guangzhou’s road greening construction. The renovation of 14 roads including Guangzhou Lu and Linjiang Lu of 17 roads planned for comprehensive reconstruction has been completed, and the other three including Zhongshan Lu, Huanshi Lu and Jiefang Lu are still in reconstruction.

Eight roads including Longxi Lu and Huadi Lu of 16 roads serving the Asian Games have been renovated while Yingyuan Lu, Hengfu Lu, Yongfu Lu, Guangyuan Xi Lu and Huangpu Lu are under reconstruction, Jichang Lu, Huangshi Lu and Aoti Lu are in tendering and the Zhujiang New Town Lu is still in the course of road greening designing.

Zhujjiang New Town New Axis Square is under construction. A responsible person of Guangzhou Forestry and Landscaping Bureau said big trees would play a major role in the greening reconstruction of the square, and 500 big trees would be planted on the Square, with 72 of them planted at present.
