GuangZhou will create 2,500 bicycles parking places nearby metro stations to push people to take public transport. This shall be completed for the opening of the Asian Games. Parking lots in downtown Guangzhou will be open 24 hours a day whilst those in the suburbs shall operate from 7:00am to 9:00pm everyday.

By 2012, Guangzhou promises to create over 25,000 bicycle parking spaces along the metro lines. The public bicycle service now operating along the BRT line should be extended to other parts of the city.
