Main Responsibilities of the Bureau of Supervision of GuangZhou Municipality:
1. Upholding the Constitution of the chinese Communist Party and other rules of the Party; inspecting the enforcement of the lines, polices and resolutions of the Party; executing the resolution of strengthening the establishment of a clean Party and the administrative supervision made by central, provincial or municipal Party Committee; assisting municipal Party Committee in establishing a clean conduct of Party members; organizing and coordinating the work of establishing a clean Party and of combating corruption; supervising the enforcement of national policies, laws and regulations in the departments and their staff under direct control of the municipal government and in the district- and county-level governments and their leaders.
2. Inspecting and handling cases of Party leaders at lower level violating the Party Constitution, Party disciplines or administrative disciplines; dealing directly with important or complicated cases originally under the jurisdiction of lower discipline inspection and supervision organs when necessary.
3. Dealing with Party member’s charges or appeals; dealing with appeals of the supervisee if the one refuses to accept one’s Party or administrative punishment; dealing with charges or reports against the supervisee’s violation of disciplines from individual or organizations.
4. Setting up education plans for combating corruption and resolutions of preserving the Party disciplines and administrative disciplines; popularizing the general and specific policies of discipline inspection and supervision; educating Party members and civil servants to conform to laws and disciplines and to build a clean and diligent government.
5. Managing the investigation and research in the theories and policies of discipline inspection and supervision; formulating policies, regulations and methods to enforce the Party and administrative disciplines, rules and regulations.
6. Cooperating with departments concerned in rectifying unhealthy practices and supervising law enforcement in government sectors and related industries.
7. Cooperating with departments that under the direct control of the municipal Party committee and with district and county Party committees and governments in administrating cadres’ discipline inspection and supervision; supervising candidates for cadres of discipline inspection and supervision organs at lower levels; organizing and directing training work for cadres from discipline inspection and supervision systems.
8. Undertaking other tasks assigned by the municipal Party committee, the municipal government and the discipline inspection and supervision organs at higher levels.
