Fernando Chui Sai On, the chief executive of Macao, will lead a delegation to pay a visit to Nansha District, GuangZhou City and attend the 2011 Macao-Guangdong Cooperation Conference on July 18. On July 14 the Macao Government announced that at this meeting Fernando Chui Sai On will meet Wan Qingliang, the Mayor of Guangzhou City, and sign several cooperation agreements between the two regions,

The Framework Agreement of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, signed in March this year, has clearly proposed the cooperation planning for Macao and Nansha. At the Guangdong-Macao Cooperation Joint Conference held this April, the two parties established a committee specifically responsible for Macao-Guangzhou cooperation, which marked officially the long-term cooperation mechanism between the two regions.

This conference is also the first meeting held by the Macao-Guangzhou Cooperation Committee of Specific Responsibility. Governments of the two regions will exchange ideas on specifying and implementing the Cooperation Agreement on Promoting Experimental Comprehensive Demonstration Zone under CEPA by Macao-Guangzhou, carry forward and practice cooperations on economy, tourism, culture, education and people’s life; and sign four agreements and MOUs on strengthening co operations concerning tourism, economy and trade, exhibition and so on.

This meeting yet again demonstrates the close constructive cooperative trading friendship that has been developed between Macao and Guangzhou.
