Creative industry has become a new economic growth point to promote industrial development in various districts of GuangZhou. Liwan District, for instance, is developing culture and creative industry through major projects such as waterfront creative industry along the bank of The Pearl River. The construction of the culture and creative industries bases such as 1850 Culture and Creative Industrial Park and Xinyi International Centre (the second phase) will greatly promote industrial agglomeration.
Besides, the Yuancun Culture and Creative Industrial Zone represented by Yangcheng Creative Industrial Park is under construction. Meanwhile, the former Guangzhou Textile Industry & Trade Holdings Ltd. in Haizhu District will be reconstructed into T.I.T Creative Textile and Apparel Park (55,000 square kilometres). The construction of Zhujiang Film Culture and Creative Industrial Park (172,000 square kilometres) has also started, which is expected to be a zone focusing on film and television culture.
Each district (city) is making every effort to attract big and good projects. Their aim was to build a regional high-class consuming centre by promoting the commercial grade in Tianhe and expanding Tianhe shopping area.
