The “Decoration Restoration” of the Chen Clan Academy, with an establishment history of one hundred years, has now been completed. All 5 exhibition areas in the Academy have been completely refurbished and will be opened in 5 days.

The Front Gate and East Gate, which have been closed for more than half a year due to construction work will be reopened next week. The entire staff of the Academy will be dressed in new uniforms. The staff includes English interpreters and sign language guides.

Li Zhuoqi, Director of the Folk Arts Museum of Chen Clan Academy, has stated that the Academy, as a “host organisation” designated by GAGOC, will be responsible to receive guests during the Asian Para Games. The East Gate will be equipped with a Security Check System and the Front Gate will be reopened. Visitors can visit the Front Gate after going through the security check at the East Gate.

There are about 30,000 existing art exhibits in the Chen Clan Academy. During the running of the Asian Games, the whole academy is rearranged to put a major focus on the local Lingnan culture style, with the five exhibition areas providing an interesting range of interesting exhibits under the themes of Sports and Games of Folk Arts, Xiguan Artist Wan Zhaoquan’s Coquettish Sculpture, Chaozhou Ceramic Works Exhibition, Liang Guoxing’s Yue Embroidery Works Exhibition and Lingnan Folk Arts. In the Yue Embroidery Works Exhibition Area, calligraphy works embroidered by Yue Embroidery Master Liang Guoxing show the sense of propriety of that style. The “Sports and Games” Exhibition Area is likely to be crowded with visitors because of the “Shiwan Figurines”. It is well known that the Chen Clan Academy, GuangZhou, is the place with the greatest exhibit range of Shiwan potteries in china.
