The GuangZhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) signed an agreement with the People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, china National Radio, China Radio International, China Daily, China Youth Daily, China News Service, Yangcheng Evening News Group, Southern Media Corporation, Guangzhou Daily Press Group and Radio Guangzhou here on Wednesday to promote the Asian Games coverage and media service.

Also in attendance were Wang Xiaoling, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of CPC, Director of the Press and Publicity Department of Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and an official in charge of promotion and media services of the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games and Asian Para Games, and Gu Shiyang, Deputy Secretary General of GAGOC and Guangzhou municipality.

GAGOC unites with media giants to cover the Games

Wang addressed the signing ceremony and took the opportunity to appreciate the state media, provincial media and municipal media for their news reporting of the 16th Asian Games and the host city. “We hope our media friends will continue to cover the Guangzhou Asian Games, present magnificent press coverage and help foster a festive atmosphere for the Games,” added she.

Previously, GAGOC has already signed an agreement with Phoenix Satellite Television Holdings Limited and Nanfang Media Group on media cooperation.

GAGOC headed into a brand-new phase for the Games preparations with the cooperation agreement signed with a number of media organisations. And GAGOC pledged to facilitate the Games media coverage with every possible means during the Games time and preparation period.
