The GuangZhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) announced the Shunde campus of Southern Medical University as a training base for ceremonial volunteers of the 16th Asian Games on Wednesday afternoon in Shunde, South china’s Guangdong Province.

Xu Ruisheng, Executive Deputy Secretary General of GAGOC and Vice Mayor of Guangzhou Municipality, and Zheng Muming, President of Southern Medical University, attended the plaque-awarding ceremony for Southern Medical University on Wednesday, as Xu reiterated the significance of medal presenters at the Games awarding ceremonies.

Ceremonial volunteers at the oath-taking ceremony

Five hundred and fifty ceremonial volunteers of the Guangzhou Asian Games took oaths during the ceremony and pledged to prepare themselves for awarding ceremonies of the Games’ 476 events. Meanwhile, officials from GAGOC Ceremonies & Cultural Events Department and Southern Medical University presented certificates of honour to members of the training team, management team and military training team.

Up till now, trainings for ceremonial volunteers have been right on track.
