On July 13th, a ceremonial meeting was held in GuangZhou to celebrate the fast development of transport business of the Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port. Companies involved in the port transport business received a total of 10.1 million Yuan as rewards. In 2010, with its handling capacity exceeding 400 million tons, Guangzhou ranked third in this regard in china.

Statistics show that last year, Guangzhou Port registered a throughput of some 410 million tons, becoming the third chinese port to have accomplished the feat of handling 400 million tons of commodities. In addition, Guangzhou Port ranks sixth in terms of handling capacity, maintaining its leading position in production capacity in the world.
