“GuangZhou, the Flower City, is blessed with fresh flowers in four seasons and in all places.” At the Conference on the Construction of Greenway Network in Guangzhou held on May 5, Executive Vice Mayor Su Zequn said that landscape attractions featuring flowers will be constructed. According to the Bureau of Forestry, Urban Utilities and Landscaping of Guangzhou Municipality, flowers will be planted in more than 30 planned regions. One exclusive species will be attached to each of these regions and Bauhinia is the top choice.

During March and April, Bauhinia was blooming well in the South china Agricultural University (SCAU), which prompted the posting on the internet of many images of Bauhinia in full bloom. Some of its greatest fans as a delightful flowering species claim that the Bauhinia in SCAU is just as magnificent as the cherry blossoms in Wuhan University!

Beautiful Bauhinia landscape can also be found on North Renmin Lu, Yanjiang Lu, Yuexiu Mountain and in Liuhua Lake Park, Luhu Park and Tianhe Park. Most horticultural experts are in agreement that the Bauhinia blossoms were exceptionally gorgeous this year and have as a consequence attracted a considerable numbers of citizens and tourists to comment on their beauty. One recent flower admirer was heard to say on admiring such a beautiful sight: “The Bauhinias on both sides of the road are in full blossom. From a distance, they look like crimson clouds floating in the sky. And their petals rain fragrance in the gentle breeze.”
