Nansha District, situated in southeastern GuangZhou, is famous for its port economy and high-tech industrial zones. In recent years however, its rich natural environment is leading to the rapid development of tourism. People are familiar with the newly opened greenways across the district, the national-level wetland, the local Tianhou Temple and its marine resources.

Nansha Beach is a new addition to the list, reopening after a one-year renovation. To guarantee the safety of swimmers, the small 200-metre swimming area is surrounded with a net and is under the surveillance of lifeguards. Sand has been brought to raise the level of the beach by 30 centimetres, providing a more comfortable surface for beach volleyball players.

Access to the beach costs 30 yuan per person. Volleyball and various water activities are organised.
