Huadu District Government and Hainan Airlines signed a major agreement on strategic cooperation. In the ceremony held in the New Haihang Plaza in the city of Haikou in Hainan Province, it was decided that the large 1 billion yuan investment project now made by Hainan Airlines will be located in the Huadu Distric of GuangZhou City.

According to Wang Yingming, chairman of the board and director-general of Hainan Airlines, by taking the opportunity of signing the cooperation agreement, Hainan Airlines will set up a headquarters in Guangzhou and will invest 1 billion yuan to promote the all-round cooperation on passenger terminals, aircrafts maintenance, aviation materials, tourism and business, etc.

Yang Yanwen, Secretary of CPC Huadu District Committee, has pointed out the four advantages of choosing Huadu, namely, convenient transportation, favorable ecological environment, prosperous industrial development and profound history and culture. In recent years, top priority has been attached to the construction of the core area of Guangzhou Airport Economic Development Zone which covers an area of 123 square kilometers.

According to the Opinion on Accelerating the Construction of Airport Economic Development Zone formulated by the Huadu District Government, the construction of the first phase of the comprehensive bonded zone (North Zone) in Baiyun International Airport will be launched. This comprises the constructing of a headquarters commercial zone, and the zone now begins to take with the location of the Hainan Airlines Guangzhou (Huadu) Headquarter, Hainan Airlines Passenger Terminal and associated luxury five-star hotels
