Torrential rain struck GuangZhou early yesterday morning, June 26, drenching the city. Heavy rains are expected to last until Thursday. As Meari, the fifth tropical storm this year, approaches.

The downpour began in Guangzhou’s downtown districts late Saturday night and stopped in the early hours of the morning. The rainclouds then moved Southward, unleashing heavy rain on the whole city until 7 am. in the morning. The Guangzhou Meteorological Station issued an Orange Rainstorm Alert (the second-highest level after red) and launched Phase II of Rainstorm Emergency Response yesterday morning. The alert lasted three hours.

Moderate and heavy rains with thunderstorms will hit Guangzhou in the upcoming three days. Temperatures will range between 24℃-30℃.
