A new ID-based ticket system will come into effect June 1 on trains between GuangZhou and shenzhen, the operator Guangzhou Railway Group said Wednesday.
ID-based train tickets will go on sale May 23. The operator suggests that passengers bring their 2nd-generation ID cards when buying tickets.
The tickets are for trains whose numbers start with C, D and G. They are mainly trains between Guangzhou and Wuhan, Guangzhou and zhuhai, and Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Passengers can buy tickets with 23 types of valid identity certifications, such as ID cards, temporary ID cards, hukou and military ID cards.
Those who buy tickets for others should provide printed copies of the other persons’ identity certificates. Only ID cards, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan visas to mainland and passports are allowed when buying tickets over the telephone. Each certificate can be used to buy only one ticket.
