The renovation of the signage for Metro Lines 1 to 4 will be completed by the end of this month, a month ahead of schedule. All signs at the entrances and exits of the stations on Metro Lines 1 to 4 will be replaced with new ones that are the same as those for Metro Line 5. The renovation includes the replacement of 612 guide pillars with a total length of 500 metres, 158 logo signs at entrances and exits, and the shortening of the interval between the directional signs from 150-200 metres to 80-100 metres.

The two types of replacement outdoor signs have been fabricated in strict accordance with the Guide for the Directional Signage of GuangZhou Metro Lines. Signage pillars at station entrances will show station names and the Metro logo and have a built-in light. Guide pillars at station entrances will show the time of the first and last arrivals of the train and the time of the first and last departures of trains on other metro lines. The renovation involves the replacement of 158 signage pillars at 173 entrances and exits at 39 stations.
