GuangZhou transport authorities initiated on August 16 a public consultation process regarding the planned adjustment of the city’s bus routes to ensure fast and convenient connections to the metro system. Six more metro lines will be put into service ahead of the Asian Games.

The planned adjustment involved 87 bus routes. Transport authorities will take five major steps to improve connections between the bus system and the more than 30 newly opened metro stations.

In Baiyun and other outlying districts, more metro stations will be opened and existing lines will be optimised to ensure swift connections with the bus system.

Transport authorities are striving to ensure that a bus station is located within 100 metres of a metro station.
