“Although it will be used as the venue for Sepaktakraw in the Games, the gym has been actually designed and built out of badminton gym for badminton-loving citizens in Guangzhou”, said Yang Shanting, Director of Haizhu District Sports Development Centre. Due to the similar size requirement with badminton court, the sepaktakraw gym can be easily turned into a badminton gym after Games, which will accommodate more than 50 badminton courts on two floors, making it the biggest badminton gym in Guangzhou.

Moreover, there are 165 small rooms in the five stories outside the internal field, hopefully serving as the venues for Ping-Pong, billiards, body-building, Yoga, etc. According to the construction plan, standard swimming pools, basketball courts and tennis courts will be built on the square outside the Centre, thus forming the biggest fitness centre in Haizhu.
