This summer, Elmo and his friends from Sesame Street will come to china for the first time, bringing with them their delightful storytelling. They will be staging a musical entitled When Elmo Grows Up at the Guangzhou Grand Theater – introducing themes about growing up and realising dreams. Interactive segments encourage children to think about their own experiences and thoughts about growing. When Elmo Grows Up will be performed for five days, from August 11 to the 15. The musical revolves around characters from the well-known American children’s educational TV series Sesame Street. The play will include the Muppets as well as real actors, and will be performed in English with chinese subtitles.

In the musical, Bert dreams of becoming a forest ranger, Telly wants to become a cowboy, new friend Abby Cadabby wants to become a fairy godmother just like her mom, and Elmo dreams of being weather-controlling monster.
