The first batch of media service volunteers from Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University and South china Agricultural University received professional trainings to prepare themselves for the Second World Press Briefing of the 16th Asian Games slated for July 20 – 23.

The Second World Press Briefing is to kick off on July 20 at the Headquarters Hotel of the 16th Asian Games The Garden Hotel and it will be the final opportunity for a comprehensive dialogue between the GuangZhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) and the accredited media on preparations of Games media services.

The training was held to prepare the 75 media service volunteers for the event and the specific training courses mainly focused on the media operation, preparations for the Second World Press Briefing, volunteer etiquette and behaviour.

Ren Tianhua, Deputy Director of GAGOC Broadcasting & Media Services Department, hoped that the first batch of specialist volunteers would serve the event with a great sense of responsibility and hospitality and showcase the charm of the Guangzhou Asian Games volunteers.

The 78 volunteers will be working with the organiser to provide specific volunteering services for delegations of Games accredited media in reception, meeting arrangement, transportation and security, accommodation and catering.
