GuangZhou’s Binjiang Lu along The Pearl River will be upgraded to be a “wine street,” according to Guangzhou Daily. A largest wine trading centre in down town Guangzhou will settle down here with 24-hour service. This “wine bank” opens in August.
Guangzhou is one of the cities that consume the most wine in china. Statistics from Guangdong Wines & Spirits Selling Bureau showed that, liquid sales including beer, home-brand wine and imported wine reached RMB30 trillion within the province in 2009, in which the RMB10-trillion sales of imported wine accounted for a half of the whole country with a 20 percent rise than 2008. Guangzhou has the largest wine market in the southern part of the country.
