The 2010 GuangZhou International Bonsai Invitational Exhibition opened on November 10 at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The show is co-organised by the Guangzhou Forestry and Gardens Administration, the Department of Ceremonies and Cultural Events of the 16th Asian Games Organising Committee, and the Guangdong Gardening Society.

It features a record number of nearly 800 bonsai pots from about 70 domestic and overseas institutions. All of them are worth more than 100,000 yuan and some are even valued at more than 1 million yuan. A total of 40 featured bonsai pots have been given a golden award after a competitive evaluation.
