On the afternoon of July 12, Zhang Guangning, Secretary of GuangZhou Municipal Party Committee, met in Guangzhou the interview team who were participating in joint interview activities designed for correspondents of both sides of the Taiwan Straits to re-take the road of the Revolution of 1911.
The joint interview activities were organized by the Taiwan affairs office of the State Council and Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao work stations of china Journalists’ Association. Nearly 30 media from both sides of the Taiwan Straits participated in the activities, including 25 reporters from Taiwan, and 18 from chinese mainland. Guangzhou is the first station of the joint interview team.
When meeting the interview team, Zhang Guangning said there was special significance for the joint interview team to take Guangzhou as the starting point of “Re-taking Xinhai Road”. “3 • 29″ Guangzhou Uprising and the subsequent major historical events in Guangzhou which had left Guangzhou not only rich in spiritual heritages, but also a number of important revolutionary relics, which are the pride of Guangzhou.
Zhang Guangning hoped that through this interview, the reporters may have intimate knowledge on the Revolution of 1911 in Guangzhou, experience the changes of Guangzhou, report Guangzhou honestly, and help to improve the visibility and influence of Guangzhou on the development of the party’s history.
